Before counting check this guideline: Tag counting - Before counting
Step 1
Find all your stores countings by filtering for your warehouse in ‘Tag counting’
N.B. If you have any open countings, you cannot start a new one. You have to either finish the open
counting or delete all journal lines, to continue with a new counting
Step 2
Open the tag counting you want to do.
To see what you need to count this week go to ‘Header’ and look under 'Counting instructions'.
Step 3
To get a more detailed overview and the barcode list. Click on ‘Print’ and choose ‘Inventory on-hand with
barcode.
This should only be used as an indicator for what should be counted.
You still need to make sure that all items have the correct label so you can scan the label directly.
Step 4
Make sure the ‘Serial number’ and ‘Warehouse’ is on ‘Yes’ and click ‘OK’.
The barcode list will now load and you can print it out.
Step 5
To start the counting go to ‘Functions’ and click ‘Start counting’. Click ‘OK’ in the new window
Step 6
Now the journal will be available on the scanner, and you can start the counting.
For a guideline for the scanner open: ’How to use Smart count’
Count the items that needs to be counted.
When you have uploaded the scanned items to the system go to ‘Functions’ again and click ‘Finish counting'
Step 7
Click 'OK'
Step 8
Now click on the button 'Post'
Step 9
Press 'OK'
N.B! Sometimes when you try to post the journal you will have an error message saying ‘Item is
suppressed’. This error means that you have counted something that is not a part of that counting. The
error should just be ignored.
Step 10
In this view you can see what you’ve counted and what should be On-hand.
You can also see all the values, the gain and loss.
Check all the items. If the counting is finished and you don’t have any mistakes go to step 15.
If you see any mistakes or an item where the counting is far off the on-hand it’s a good idea to go out and recount the items again manually.
If the counting is correct click on ‘Accept counting’. Now it will immediately post the counting and you are done.
If you need to recount or manually edit continue to next step.
Step 11
To go back to make changes to the counting, click on ‘Continue counting’
Step 12
Under ‘Functions’ click ‘Reset counting’. Click ‘OK’ in the next window
Step 13
Go to ‘Function’ again and click ‘Start counting’ and ‘OK’ in the next window
Step 14
You can correct the counting in 2 ways.
1: By scanning the items again with the scanner
2: Correct it manually in D365 --> Tag counting - Manual adjustments
If you have 3 pieces of an item and you count it 3 times it will show as 3 separate lines. Be aware of this
when you correct an item.
If you scan the item on the scanner and use the + / - function on the scanner it will only have 1 line with the quantity, you filled in.
To correct it manually in D365 find the line that you need to correct.
In the ‘Corrected’ field, you should put in the exact amount you have on stock. If you have counted 1, and, you have 2 pieces, you should fill in ‘2’
If you want to register an item to 0, you just put in the number ‘0’. As it is not possible to remove single
lines from the counting.
You can also add a line by pressing ‘New’. Here you can fill in the item number. Remember to fill in the
Serial number field and the warehouse.
Step 15
When you have corrected what needs to be corrected click ‘Functions’ and choose ‘Finish counting’
Step 16
Now click ‘Post’ and ‘OK’ in the window that appears.
Step 17
You will now see the simulation again including the corrections you made before.
Check through your simulation again.
If there are still mistakes in the counting you can go back and do step 11 to 16 again.
If you conclude that the counting is now correct move on by clicking ‘Accept counting’ and the counting will be posted.
The counting is now completed and posted to the system.
How to delete all lines and start the counting from scratch
If there has been a lot of errors and you for some reason want to start the counting from scratch.
Go to ‘Functions’ and click ‘Delete journal lines’
This will delete all your lines and you can start from scratch with the counting.
