This guideline contains how to control your outlet and how to follow up on sold outlet items.
General information about handling outlet
Customer have the same right of return on outlet items just like on new items. They can return the outlet
item within 30 days, after pick up, in any store. Though we can kindly ask them to return it in the same
store as they bought it if it’s possible for them. The item must be in the same condition as when they
bought it.
Customers cannot file a claim for the mistakes the furniture has when bought. They can only claim if
something happens later. They will also still have 10-year guarantee on the product.
When handling outlet we cannot reserve any items for customers from your store. If the customer wants to secure the item they need to pay. You can use the online payment for this if the customer is not in the
store yet and they want to secure the item.
It’s not possible to reserve outlet items from other stores either. Again, the customer must pay first.
How to keep control of your outlet
During launch it’s important to have a good structure of your outlet. Make a list of all the items you need to put on outlet with the date the customer can pick up the furniture. This date should be one or two days before the new furniture that replaces the old arrive to the store.
You can use the same Trello board as where you have your copy paste areas for the store. Make a new card with the outlet.
See example in picture below:
With this board it’s easy and quick to transfer all the items to the outlet with the correct pickup date.
When selling outlet items to the customer use an outlet template you can fill out with the customer.
Example:
|
OUTLET BOLIA (STORE NAME)
|
Go through the item together with the customer and agree on what flaws the item have. If it doesn’t have
any you can write ‘Good condition’.
Make copy both for the customer and the store. The customer can show the document when picking up
the item.
Save the document in your ‘Outlet’-folder in the cash register. This way you will always now what items are sold, and when they will be picked up. This way you can always follow up on your outlet items if the
customer doesn’t come and pick up the item on the agreed date.
